What you need to know. You will work as a Buyer/Planner for our client, an innovative and fast-growing medical device manufacturing company in Co. Galway. As the Buyer/Planner , you will oversee the buying of material for all consumables and non- consumables for the manufacturing site. You will be responsible for buying, stock takes/inventory control and supplier performance. This is a six-month contract initially. Your new job. Key duties & responsibilities: Manage Customer demand & interact with Operations on production schedule to meet demand plan. Generate & manage MRP process, to include sub-assembly demand. Generate purchase order requirements to meet MRP. Drive material pricing reduction process & supplier quality agreements. Manage inventory levels to maintain stock balances to meet production plan. Manage stock taking process & expired and slow-moving inventory. Coordinate freight activity on all shipments to customers & deliveries from suppliers. Ensure Quality policy is adhered to in all aspects of logistics to maintain compliance. Pro-actively looking to implement improvement opportunities with suppliers & internal material delivery to production. Prepare weekly / monthly logistics reporting metrics. Assist in implementation of ERP system. What are we looking for? 3rd level degree in Supply Chain/Engineering/Business and APICS certifications, 3-4 years’ experience buying experience ideally within a medical device manufacturing. Strong negotiation skills. Good written & oral communications skills. Team player with previous cross functional team experience. Strong Excel exposure and you must have ERP systems experience.
