Senior Hardware Engineer - County Offaly. Core Duties & Responsibilities: • Work as part of the hardware development team, developing robust electronic and mechanical designs which meet the specifications and all required industry standards. • Follow work instructions to implement the planned solution whilst keeping an open mind to alternative solutions. • Communicate and work closely with members of the software and embedded software teams to design and develop complete solutions. • Communicate and work closely with the production team to develop, enhance and maximise efficiencies in the manufacturing process. • Communicate with and assist the production and service teams to investigate, diagnose and resolve reported hardware issues and failures occurring in the production process and out in the field. • Report on development activities, progress and issues as appropriate to the senior management team via status reports and team meetings. • Comply with all company quality processes. • Arrange, conduct, participate in and contribute to routine hardware design reviews as and when required in order to produce quality products which meet and exceed the agreed and specified requirements. • Review and agree project timescales with the senior management team. • Work diligently and professionally to deliver the agreed work products to specification on time. • Provide development and technical leadership. • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of current and future technologies relevant to the company’s products and markets – from overall architecture to low-level technical details. • Work with and provide schematics to the contract PCB designer. • Maintain the engineering change database. • Maintain the library of existing hardware designs. Qualifications/Requirements for this role: • Degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent. • Minimum 3 – 5 years' automotive electronics design experience. • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. • Willingness and ability to travel abroad for shows/conferences and to liaise with customers and partners. • Serve as a role model through active use of company methods and standards, excellent team working, excellent communication, and supporting other team members.
