General Manager opportunity - Midlands. We are advertising to appoint a General Manager to our client company based in the Midlands, Ireland. General Manager. The appointee will be responsible for Operations at the midlands based facility. The General Manager will hold full financial (P&L) and operational responsibility for a major operational site in Ireland. The General Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation to ensure a safe, profitable, high quality performance in accordance with customer expectations, corporate objectives, strategy and plans. Essential Skills & Responsibilities. Financial Acumen and P&L Management. Continuously analyses financial and operational performance and forecast data to determine progress toward targets and proactively identifies and captures improvement potential where possible. Direct the preparation of operating budgets and proposals for capital expenditure and investments in infrastructure, technology, equipment, systems, or other assets and resources. Supervises other employees, which might require scheduling of staff, recruitment, and discipline. Develops and maintains departmental budgets. Approves all spending for the department. Aides in marketing and public relations for the company. Reviews reports to determine profitability and areas of improvement. Leadership and Stakeholder Management. Strong decision-making capabilities in a highly pressurised, time-sensitive business. Lead, guide, evaluate and develop a high-performing team to ensure that the organisation achieves its business objectives and complies with all relevant regulations and laws. Effectively communicate with all levels of the business and align the organisation towards a common goal. Develop and maintain effective business relationships with all key stakeholders to meet business targets. Promotes the goals of the organisation on a daily basis with each employee, while optimising and improving the bottom line of the company. Quality Focus, Service Delivery and Operational Efficiency. Strong focus on operational performance and quality of service. Proactively manage quality improvement measures where necessary and align closely with customers. Monitor and track quality standards of the ground handling operation and ensure continuous improvements in workflows and services to maintain competitiveness and to improve cost base. Key Performance Indicators. Safety performance metrics. Revenue, Gross Profit and EBITDA. HR Metrics – relating to Recruitment, Employee Engagement, Churn and Turnover. Quality targets as set by Group and/or as agreed with customers. Other KPIs as defined by the business unit. To agree monthly, quarterly and annual targets with each dealer and support these dealers in their quest to achieve same. To constantly review each departments performance. Share successes as best practice and identify measureable solutions for areas of weakness. Qualifications and Competencies. University degree or equivalent, advanced degree in related field or professional certifications are advantageous. Excellent working knowledge of business management principles and practices, financial concepts, and key drivers of profitability and operational performance. A minimum of 5 years’ experience with significant P&L and people responsibility, preferably in the engineering/manufacturing industry. Strong strategic skills and commercial acumen combined with the ability to motivate teams to deliver high qualitystandards. “Solutions” driven individual. Team focused management style that fits into a fast-paced environment. Strong oral and written communications and ability to communicate and motivate at all levels. A sense of urgency and a passion for improving the delivery of services with a commitment to continuous improvement. Personal and professional integrity of the highest order. Highly motivated self-starter, who can effectively prioritise, multi-task and manage to accomplish objectives within prescribed deadlines. Excellent organisational abilities, attention to detail, able to prioritise workloads and work effectively to deadlines in a fast paced environment.
